I just received the press a few days ago. So far, I have made flour tortillas, 1/2 flour - 1/2 corn tortillas, and lefse (potato based Norwegian flat bread). It worked really well for flour tortillas by following the recipe that came with the press. It worked well for the 1/2 and 1/2 tortillas once I got the moisture to the correct level in the dough. My issue since I was experimenting. I was able to fully cook both varieties on the press, but it does take a little longer than I expected. There is still room to increase the temp. so I need to experiment with the next batch.
The press really simplified making lefse. I was never able to accomplish a nice round lefse with rolling. As opposed to rolling out the very sticky dough on a floured surface, I dredged each dough ball in flour before pressing. The press makes nicely shaped, reasonably round lefse, in a much shorter time than rolling. Clean up after the fact was easier, too. I finished cooking the lefse in a cast iron skillet because cooking on the press was taking a long time, though.
Bottom line is that I am very pleased with this product. The large surface area means you can actually get an 8 - 10 inch tortilla. It cleans up easily. If you are willing to do some experimenting, you aren't limited to the handful of recipes that come with the press. Good product.

The chapatis come out well provided the dough is done right and the chapati dough is pressed to the correct thickness. Definitely the phrase 'Practice makes perfect' applies in this case.
